This workshop will focus on safe and effective ways to warm up for contortion practice. Emphasizing clean lines and active flexibility we will work towards balancing standing split positions. With a strong focus on hip and shoulder mobility, we will open our entire spine in order to avoid dumping all the flexibility into the lower back. Strengthening as we go we will prioritize techniques for longevity and alignment in practice. We will examine ways to find the centre of balance and experiment with shapes on hand and elbow balances. Learning to spot each other we will try to improve our own practice by spotting our peers and understanding what to encourage and correct for our partners.
